Upon receiving the light, I immediately noticed the heft—it’s quite heavy, which makes me wonder if a lighter, perhaps plastic version wouldn't be better for long rides. Unfortunately, the delivery experience wasn't smooth; the packaging was minimal, and one of the plastic mounting wings arrived broken. Dealing with the seller about getting a replacement part was frustrating, so I ended up sourcing an aftermarket aluminum mount myself.
Once installed, I took it out for a spin. The power is undeniable; some users have mentioned that this light is so intense it’s “even annoying for those who see it from the front,” and I can confirm that glare is a major factor. When trying to illuminate far down the road, I found the brightness dropped off drastically beyond about 4 meters, which is inadequate for true safety at speed.
While it shines incredibly well close up, that powerful illumination seems to just hurt the rider's eyes rather than casting a useful beam ahead.
I was also confused by the separate low and high beam modes. It appears to just dull the output rather than changing the beam pattern, as the effective illumination angle remains the same. Even the lower setting is intensely glaring to oncoming traffic.
If you are riding in well-lit city streets, the streetlights are brighter for distance visibility, but in dark, unlit areas, this headlight only lets you see clearly within a very short radius of about 4 meters. Others have praised the build quality, saying it's a "solid build," and I agree it feels substantial, perhaps too substantial given the weight. For the money, it certainly pumps out massive light, which other buyers note, stating it “illuminates during the day due to its power.”
So, who is this CYCLAMI light for? If you need an extremely bright, close-range utility light for areas where you are moving very slowly, or perhaps just want to be seen overwhelmingly during the daytime, this product delivers shocking power. However, based on my experience, if you need a functional, long-distance beam for serious road or MTB night riding that won't blind oncoming drivers or require you to constantly replace heavy components, this might not be the best fit.
